On October 13, our journey started at 8 o'clock in the morning. After all of us had arrived and said goodbye to family and friends, we first checked our bags and received our boarding passes. After the security check, we waited for us to board the plane. At 11:30 a.m. we started our flight to London. After about two hours of flying we arrived at Heathrow. We already noticed the time difference to Germany. But it was only an hour. After a few hours at Heathrow Airport, we finally started our flight to Chicago. We flew in a fairly large plane with nine seats per row. The flight took about nine hours, but luckily there were drinks, food and snacks. After nine hours of watching films, listening to music, and sleeping, we landed in Chicago.
After Immigration we took a metro to downtown Chicago and then walked to the hostel. It was 6 p.m.there, but already one o’clock in Germany. So we settled in and then went straight to bed since we were exhausted.

There had been a lot to see in overwhelming Chicago, but after three days we left for the airport at 9:30 a.m. and then for Oklahoma. After a two-hour flight we were given a very warm welcome by our exchange partners and their families at the airport. After everyone had been home for a short time, we later met for a welcome party for us at the Wrights' farm. After everyone had eaten something from the BBQ and the delicious - and very impressive - potluck dinner, we could play different games, go see the horses and donkeys, or talk to others to get to know everybody. After that day everyone was very tired, but anxious about what he would expect in the next days.
