Day 2 Riverwalk and deep-dish pizza

We started our day early in the morning with an American breakfast at the hostel. Then our tour began with an El(evated Train) ride to get to the splitting point of the Chicago River. There we had a great view onto the skyline over the Chicago River with the Trump Tower in the background.
After that we walked along the Chicago River on the Riverwalk all the way to the lake just south of Navy Pier, where we had a fantastic view on Lake Michigan and the Centennial Wheel. Afterwards we recharged our batteries in Giordano's, where we had our first deep-dish pizza. We had three different types of pizza: veggie, with pepperoni and mushrooms, and with bacon. All were delicious and it was an amazing experience. After our stop at the restaurant, we explored Millennium Park. We started at the "Cloud Gate Sculpture" and split into smaller groups to visit the Jay Pritzker Pavilion and Maggie Daley Park. The style of the pavilion was amazing and the reflecting silvery titan plates let it look like a building from the future. The park is the greatest playground I have ever seen. It is divided into sections for kids up to 5 years but also has activities for all ages. After exploring it we could do something in smaller groups, so we met at "Cloud Gate Sculpture" - to get released into free time. One group went back to the hostel, while the other group started strolling through the shops in Chicago. Unfortunately, it started to rain on that day, so this group also went back to the hostel after a few hours. To round off the day the group started playing table tennis and the billiards at the common room in the hostel.

In conclusion, I can say that it was a great day and we got awesome experiences from it.
